Cabin photographs are useful, but they are only one part of choosing an overnight cruise. Start with four checks: where the trip boards, how the party fits into cabins, which meals are included and when the programme returns. Those details determine whether the cruise works with the rest of your visit.
Check the actual port
A cruise shown in a Catba travel catalogue does not necessarily board on Catba Island. Read the boarding point in the selected product. Our Aqua itineraries use Tuan Chau in Ha Long; the Catba-based cruise products have their own boarding arrangements. Booking a transfer before checking that distinction can put the party at the wrong starting point.
The overnight selection gives the product pages. Read the pickup and boarding notes together, then send your arrival details when asking for availability. A hotel pickup and a port check-in are different parts of the journey.
Describe the cabin party accurately
The headline price on a cabin product may be based on sharing. One adult travelling alone can require a single supplement. An odd number of adults can also change the arrangement when cabins are sold on a double-sharing basis.
Children’s ages matter separately from the total headcount. State each age and the number of adults, then use the cabin choices on the selected page. A cabin’s advertised capacity is not a confirmation that a particular child arrangement is available. If the combination needs a manual quote, wait for that arrangement before treating the displayed estimate as final.
Read meals as a list
Check the meals included on each day, and read the exclusions alongside them. Do not infer unlimited drinks from a photograph of a restaurant or a bar. Dietary requests should be included in the enquiry and checked against the chosen programme.
Our Quiet Bay itinerary and Aqua Classic itinerary provide different product records. Compare the specific meal and activity lists rather than transferring an inclusion from one boat to another.
Check the return before choosing what comes next
Use the programme’s stated return and disembarkation point when looking at onward transport. Do not replace disembarkation time with an assumed arrival in Hanoi or at the airport. The transfer is another leg and may require its own confirmation.
Send us the intended travel date, cabin party, selected cabin class and next destination. Include any fixed departure that must be met. We can then check the cruise and the connection as one practical plan, with availability and the final arrangements confirmed before payment.
